If you are over the age of 70 1/2 and previously have been subject to minimum required distributions (MRDs) from your UC Retirement Savings Program accounts, your MRD will be issued on Dec. 14, 2012, unless you have made arrangements to receive your 2012 MRD through systematic withdrawal or on another specified date.
UC Retirement Savings Program accounts include the DC, 403(b) and 457(b) Plans.
Your MRD will be taken proportionally from your current investment mix. Federal income tax will be withheld based on the Federal Tax Withholding Tables (married with 3 allowances), and 10 percent of the federal tax withholding will be withheld for California income tax.
If you want to have your MRD taken from a specific fund or funds, or change the amount of your tax withholding, please contact Fidelity at 866-682-7787 before Dec. 12. Your distribution will be processed at the time you request these changes.
If 2012 is the first year you are subject to MRDs, you will receive your distribution in late-March 2013, unless you contact Fidelity to receive it earlier.
