- WAGE INCREASES that help ensure your salaries remain market-competitive. UC wages for AFSCME-represented employees are currently at or above market.
- QUALITY HEALTH BENEFITS at the same rates as those for other UC employees, including other union-represented employees. Lower-salaried employees pay substantially less for medical care than higher-salaried employees.
- EXCELLENT RETIREMENT BENEFITS that are among the most generous in the market. Current employees will see no change in their pension benefits, while future employees hired after a new contract is ratified would be given a choice between a traditional pension plan and a 401(k)-style plan — few employers offer this kind of choice or a pension plan.
